My Ikea Trip

I know I said I wouldn't blog while I'm on vacation, but I made a trip to Ikea and wanted to share a few of my finds. Since everything I bought had to fit in my suitcases I was a little limited... but that also kept my spending under control (which my husband appreciates).

I feel like I can always use a timer for something in my classroom and this one was cute and only $1.99!

Also for only $1.99 this little duster will be perfect for the kids to clean up little messes.

I plan to mount this somewhere, possibly on a side or back of a shelf. The bar was $1.99 and each container was 99 cents. I will use one container for sharp pencils, one for dull pencils, and one for extra erasers.

For 99 cents, I couldn't pass up this two sided frame for classroom pictures.

Well, this is an exhausting task on an iPod so that's all for now. (Please excuse any typos.)

  1. OOOO...I love ikea!!! I found plain magazine boxes I plan to use for my kiddos books next year...think they we're 5 for $1.99!!! Lots cheaper than the ones in teacher mags.

  2. I love Ikea, too! I saw those magazine boxes, but didn't get any because I was afraid they wouldn't hold up.. I guess for the price it'd still be a bargain even if they had to be replaced. Let me know how they work!

  3. I love IKEA I just wish that I could order the things online, the nearest IKEA is 2 hrs away. I need more magazine boxes, they hold up very well by the way, before school and they have the coolest colored stack able boxes with lids. Can't remember the codes right now however they are great!

  4. I just had my first IKEA experience a couple weeks ago! Loved it. As I saw your 2 sided frame I thought... oooh you could have it for a center stand. Poetry center- copy and highlight rhyming words etc and you can have a copy of the poem on both sides in middle of table. You found some great things!!

  5. I love that idea, Beth! Thanks for sharing. That's what it's all about!

I probably would have bought way more if it didn't have to all fit back into my suitcase and not weigh over 50lbs!

  6. I bought the rod and holders as well. So cheap and they look great. My husband just mounted them last week beside my chart stand. I love it. Very nice way of keeping the pens/markers organized for me and the kids. I don't have to have little cups of markers falling over all the time now when the kids go to write on the chart stand.

  9. I know I am a little late but can you tell me what those cups are called? I can't find them on Ikea's website and I was going to go into the store this weekend to find them. Thanks for all your great ideas. I love and use them!

  10. Dee- I don't know what those cups are called and I just searched for them and the metal bar on the website and I didn't see either one. It was about 6 months ago so maybe they don't have them anymore. Good luck finding them in-store! I heart IKEA. :)
