Happy Birthday to You!

Yesterday I had two birthdays in my classroom!  I have so many birthdays in May that I ran out of little birthday squares for our classroom calendar!

I thought I'd share what I do for each student's birthday.  I made a couple of birthday buttons that they get to wear at school.  They also get a birthday pencil and birthday bookmark.  Then, the kids get to choose a birthday book for me to read to the class... they love this!

It's very simple and inexpensive, but it makes the kids feel special.

*Do your students obsess over your birthday?  I never bring up my birthday, but the kids start asking about it and never forget it.  This year we were on Spring Break on my birthday so I was showered with birthday wishes and creations the day we returned from break!  They're so sweet!
